But, now those days seem like a distant memory! You have grown to be such a big fine boy! You definitely have a strong will and are very stubborn. Unfortunately, that comes at you from all sides.
So, what did we do on your very special first birthday?
You rode around in your brand new wheels, you actually sat in it for HOURS. You even watched your cartoons sitting in it!
We ate lunch at your favorite place...Chick-Fil-A! They gave you a sweet little stuffed cow and a whole mess of balloons.
Daddy met us for lunch at Chick-Fil-A, and you kept flirting with a lady sitting at the table directly behind us. She just ate it up!
You "tried" a birthday cupcake. Well, you stuck you finger in it, then wiped your finger on your chest. Didn't even stick a bite in your mouth. I swear sometimes that they must have mixed you up at the hospital because you don't like sweets at all!
I'd say it was overall a great day. Just me, you, and Daddy. Your party was on the 26th...more to come on that later.
So, what are you up to these days? You are now a walking maniac!! You can even stand yourself up without pulling on anything!!! I'm so proud, but still so scared at the same time. You're eating more and more solids, but you really like your baby mush. Your personality is definitely shining through. You are such a little clown and once you figure out how to make somebody laugh, you will keep doing whatever over and over again. You love to laugh and dance--you have more rhythm than Mommy does! You love all music, but seem to really enjoy country music. You love to read books, and even though you hold them upside down sometimes, you seem to be reading them yourself!
You're wearing mostly 12 month or 12-18 month clothes, but also some 18 month (especially rompers) since you've got such a long torso. I'm not sure what your exact stats are, but we're headed to see Mrs. Natalie tomorrow, so I'll be sure to update. You love to shake your head "no," but it generally doesn't mean "no." You usually do that when you're really excited, or when you think something is really yummy. You also do it for "no," so Mommy gets confused when you eat sometimes! You're now drinking whole milk (still lactose free for now) and you love it! You'll drink it cold every now and then, but mostly still like it to be room temperature. You are such a creature of habit, and love to stick to your routine. That's not to say you're not flexible though. We go on lots of play dates and have met lots of new friends! As long as you're playing with your buddies, you don't seem to mind too much.
You've been going to Mother's Day Out on Mondays for a few weeks now, and your separation anxiety seems to be lessening...especially when there's other kids to play with!
More than anything, you are the most special thing your Daddy and I have done in this life so far. I hope you always know how proud we are of you, and how much we love you always and forever. You are my love, sweet baby boy!
